In the autumn of 1588, beneath the shadows of the Great Pyramids of Giza, a boy named Shuamun lived a simple life with his mother Frida, knowing nothing of gods. Unknown to him, his father was Shu, Egyptian God of Air, Wind, Atmosphere, and the space between Heaven and Earth. When an occultist named Ashur the Scorched unleashed forbidden spirits on his village, something awakened inside Shuamun, a burst of atmospheric pressure that shattered the threat instantly.
Ashur hunted them to a frozen mountain ridge, where Frida died protecting her son. When her blood touched the earth, the sky itself mourned, and Shuamun fell backward off the ridge, beyond reality, beyond time, into the Aetheric Continuum, the primordial atmosphere from which reality itself was born. The Conclave of Gods found him there and recognized the rightful heir to the Living Atmosphere. Centuries passed inside the Continuum while only moments passed on Earth; he emerged as Jett Lag, and was reborn in the modern era as Asysio McKnight.
